Cyber Attackers Can Breach Targets In Hours 04-14-2018, 08:03 AM

Greetings everyone,
I personally deal with cyber attacks on a daily basis, so this Is nothing new to me. Those who wish to simply know the reality of how easy It can be (by no means, not always) for hackers to compromise entities, will certainly find this article of Interest. Before moving onto the article Itself, I'd like to briefly elaborate on one point taken from the site as follows.
This Is extremely accurate. I recall one occasion (apart from thousands of others) when I compromised the back-end of a given organization, and advised them to secure their systems. They voluntarily took themselves offline for a period of 2 days In an effort to patch their vulnerabilities, and had no clue as to how I got In. How did I know that? Because a couple of days later when they returned online, I exploited It via the exact same gateway & the exact same attack vector. In fact, without question, right this minute I can gain access once again.
From a security standpoint of the organization, It's appalling to have very little knowledge of how to Identify and patch weaknesses but by the same token, alarming to have your credentials In the hands of an Insecure body.
That aside, moving onto the thread's topic.

Quote:The majority of cyber attackers (71%) can breach a targeted organisation within 10 hours, and 18% claim they could breach a target in the hospitality and food and beverage industries within an hour, according to the latest Nuix black report.
Nearly 60% said it was rare for them to encounter systems that they could not break into, 75% of hackers said they were rarely detected by their victims after an attack and 2% said they were never detected. Some 74% said they were rarely impressed by an organisation’s security posture and that most security professionals tasked with detecting attacks do not understand what they are looking for.
