So I'm just curious about something, you know I read a lot of people's posts but this is never really talked about. So with a items serial number you can get a warranty replacement essentially. So what about items like for instance a generator you know maybe saying it caught fire, any idea how this will be handled.

As such you'd use the "disposed of the faulty Item method", by saying It was Immediately thrown In the trash due to health and safety concerns.

Companies have protocols In place to deal with health & safety matters, hence they must comply with their regulations.

If you add personal Injury to the SE, It will significantly Increase the likelihood of success.

I was kinda referring to the big gas powered generators that supply emergency power or portable power in mass quality. I understand the whole battery thing and personal safety. I was thinking along the lines like it caught fire and possibly damage to a structure. But I worry about them asking or waiting for a insurance claim and where would you go from there could that be faked or is it possible they might send a representative out themselves. Or would this be something that would be treading dangerous grounds like insurance fraud and such

Not every structural damage warrants an Insurance claim and If It does, It's entirely your choice - pay the excess to the Insurer to cover the cost of repairs, or fix It yourself.

The representative has absolutely no say In the matter, nor does he have the right to enter your private property.

I was just gathering all my information before I get into something that could be potentially something that I'm not prepared for. Buy yes my confidence has increased. Wanting to get aerial numbers for a laptop cause I'm in dire need of a new one. I know leenovo is out. Go to best buy or something and snag a serial number and go from there.
