Crunchyroll is taking anime piracy seriously. The anime streaming giant is reportedly hiring a dedicated anti piracy specialist with an annual salary of up to $330,000 USD to identify, track, and help take down unauthorized anime distribution sites. Funny part is Crunchyroll used to be one of them. Now they're lowkey the Akatsukii of Anime Piracy.

It's bizarre to see them flip sides on this. Assuming they are only going after titles for which they have IP rights... Their catalog is actually fairly limited.

It's quite literally impossible for them to stop people from torrenting, as even Hollywood studios are unable to DMCA everything.

Even with them partnering or merging with Funamation. It's still limited and I do end up using pirated sites to watch other animes
