chipp: Don't understand it in a wrong way, your way is the standard, normal and basically the only way to make and use headers for functions (except I personally prefer using #pragma once as the safeguard, though it's a bit less supported), there's no advanced version (you may only make it better by nicely organizing the code for example and such, but that doesn't change much on the principle of headers).
