Christians Are A Dying Breed 11-20-2013, 02:35 AM

As much as Christianity supposedly dominates and flourishes in America, I see very little evidence of true followers.
People can claim all they want that they are a Christian, but I will call bullshit all day. It irks me how many people throw around the word Christian, acting like they are something they are not, and completely undermining what it means to actually be one.
People say they believe in God and they're a Christian...etc But these are the same people that go out underage drinking every weekend, participate in per-marital sex, and then go to Church on Sunday and pretend they are living with God. I want to point out that they are not Christians because they claim to be, unless there actions support their claim. Reading through James in the Bible, you'll understand.
"What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, "Go in peace; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead."
If you have read the Bible, you may think these verses contradict a couple other verses in the Bible which say that faith alone is enough, but you must look into the context and why it was said. We can conclude, without being contradictory, that having faith in your God, produced good works. If you are not producing good works and living the way that will mature you with Christ, then you never had faith. You can't expect to live your life full of sin and think your salvation is reserved because of your pretend belief in a higher power for comfort.
With this said, it baffles my why a "true believer" would willingly disobey the commands of God, who intimately loves you more than you can imagine, who died on the cross for YOU, and is perfect in every way possible and promises you eternal happiness and joy if you love him also. Reading the Bible, it is just so inspiring if I had the perspective of a believer. So coming from a non-believer, I imagine the feeling is multiplied to someone who believes or wants to. It makes me feel loved, comfortable, joyous, valuable, and most of all, live each and every day so Christ can grow in me and me with him. Because in doing so, I will be complete and be with the one being that loves me and wants me more than anyone else in the world, including family.
So how could someone who claims to be a believer, be aware of the teachings of Christ and what kind of person the Son of God was, and still live a life full of sin? Willingly disobey how Christ would want you to live, and how he even did it himself. Where is the inspiration for people to want to be like him anymore, to want to be with him? Is it a lack of education? Or is it just a complete lack of faith, and only in it for the rewards? Which may I say won't earn you any "rewards" at all.
I could keep going and going. But I've been ranting far too long. It's something I observe each and every day from "believers". I see nothing but judgement, hate, and overall making your brothers and sisters of Christ feel inferior. All of which don't exemplify the true traits of a Christian.
"Love your neighbor as yourself."
"...must not show favoritism."
Yeah, I just don't see it. I haven't come across many, if any believers in Christ.
