Given the package was accepted In the "driveway", as far as they're concerned It wasn't your dad (or anyone In your household) that accepted the package. As such, It didn't arrive.

So I tried using the package never arrived method after all but I called and they told me to wait later so they can start an investigation and I did live chat and they told me I need to sort it out with UPS themselves. What should I do?

Tell Adidas that UPS told you to contact them.
This will hopefully avoid Adidas contacting UPS.
PS : Screwing over the UPS courier for one's personal enjoyment isn't a nice thing to do.
