Canadian sniper breaks world record #1
An unnamed sniper from the Canadian Special Forces successfully eliminated an ISIS target from 3.5 km (about 2.2 miles) sometime in the last month, bringing the title back to Canada from the previous record held by the British Forces' Craig Harrison, at roughly 2.5 km (1.5 miles). On another note, the TAC-50 is sleek as fuck.

It's often the outcasts, the iconoclasts ... those who have the least to lose because they
don't have much in the first place, who feel the new currents and ride them the farthest.

Lucky shot, or well judged?

We'll never know.

One day... Canada will take over the world.

Until that day... Would you like some maple syrup on that?

If you read or imagine the fact that if wanted by someone, you could die to a sniper from approx 3.5 km it's pretty frightening.

On the other hand it's super amazing, how precise (lucky?) people can be. I am already shaking when I hold a cup of tea filled to the brim and others manage to lethally wound you from such an immense distance. *shiver*

There's no way it was just a lucky shot. The sniper had to factor in air resistance, wind speed and direction, elevation, the spin of the bullet, and even the curvature of the earth, among other things. I've been told I probably won't learn how to work with air resistance in physics until university. Also, the maximum practical range specified by McMillan for the TAC-50 is 1800 meters, which is just over half the distance.

You seem pretty convinced of the sniper's skill. I do admit, that there is considerable skill behind that, but you can never dismiss luck as an option, especially under extraordinary circumstances. (practical range being 1800 meters)

That's the point.

If he applied It all correctly, then It was on target and very well judged. If not (miscalculated), then simply a lucky shot. Either way, the fact remains that he nailed his target.
