Just bought a camera from amazon and I want to SE it. What is the best course of action to take for this? This is a very aged account with multiple purchases. Have never done an SE on this account before either. The package arrived with 2 other items in a larger box but the other items were extremely lightweight (100g each). I searched up the camera weight and it is 328g. The camera cost $700 and I am also in the USA. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

As long as your purchase history is as good as you state, and no previous SE's, then I don't see how they would reject it.

Additionally, for any one else thinking of doing this in the future...Always make sure that whenever you're ordering multiple items to help make the SE easier, make sure that the other items are of a substantial weight (e.g. 5L screenwash), as this will make it a lot more difficult for Amazon to challenge the claim.

Yea my history is really good. They left box on my porch and took a picture of it as well so I think DNA wouldn't be possible. Should I do PEB and say the camera is missing but the camera is the heaviest item in the box. Or should I do MEB saying the camera didn't arrive but everything else did inside the box like the batteries and stuff?

DNA would negate any further back and forth with Amazon, as you're simply claiming that the whole order is missing and did not arrive. With your type of transaction history, and as long as the photograph doesn't show your door number, a DNA would simple and straightforward.

PEB would also work, however due to the significant weight difference they may query it more.

IMHO I would just go with DNA and commit to it all the way. Worse case scenario, they reject your claim and you just take the L on this occasion by simply returning the item for a refund.

They didn't have my house number but it was pretty clearly in front of my house. I live in a townhouse btw. How hard would PEB be and how would I go about submitting it?

Exactly the same way as you would claim DNA.

You contact Customer Services (through the Amazon App) and advised that after opening the box, the camera wasn't there.

You basically need to act/behave/talk like a genuine customer would if this actually happened to them. I know that seems pretty obvious, but a lot of people forget this and that's when mistakes are made.

On the box that it arrived it is stated that it was 3lbs and it also said that the package contained lithium ion batteries. Do you think that going forward with PEB would be difficult and I should do a DNA?

DNA will most definitely start the investigation with the courier and require PL from your part. It’s up to you but I would personally go for PEB. I’ve done heavier items before. On the other hand if you haven’t done PL before, that could work too. Only problem is that if I recall correctly they have a pic of the delivery.

Alright if I do PEB, would I contact amazon support just saying that the small items arrived but the camera didn't come with the package or should I say that the camera arrived in the box but when I opened it up, everything was inside and only the camera was missing?
