Buying Resealing Equipment on Same Amazon Account #1
Hi,

After finally deciding to use sealed box method for SE'ing an expensive GPU, I've realised that an additional layer of packaging (in the form of a clear heat-shrink wrap seal around the GPU box), is a good twist that has will increase chances of SE success, by decreasing likelihood of the box being opened and checked.

The query at hand is whether or not purchasing of resealing equipment (heat sealer, plastic wrap, heat gun etc.) on the same amazon account used to purchase the GPU, will somehow be detected and taken into consideration during handling of the returned sealed box package.

Any input is appreciated - Thanks in advance.

To be safe you should ask a friend or family member to use their account. If this is not possible then in my opinion its still fine and you will be safe to make the purchase on your account. If Amazon catches you, it will not be due to the purchase you made, but rather the poor re-seal attempt.

I'll make the purchases through another account.

With regards to the idea of using heat-shrink wrap, do you think that the inconsistency between the original packaging (no shrink wrap) and the shrink-wrapped reseal would be caught by the warehouse employee, or simply taken as an original?

They process hundreds of returns each day, you should be fine. I highly doubt they would be able to tell the difference. Good luck!
