Does anyone here currently use the web browser Brave? Please comment with your thoughts/complaints if you do. I think it has a nice UI and useful features. Also, it's pretty fast to say the least. It also doesn't use Adobe Flash Player @ all. I think it has potential. What do you guys/gals think?

I have used it and it doesn't do anything that firecocks can't do. Also it's based on Chromium which I don't like the idea of, that's the reason it doesn't use Flash (iirc).

It has 0 potential and will die out within a year or so.

I like their initiative with blocking ads and trackers, since in Chrome or Firefox the "adblocker" or similar extensions reallllyy slows down the browser.

However, I don't see how it can beat any of the major browsers out there. I appreciate their OSS initiative, though. I think it could have a chance if the OSS community around it persists with the project

I see... I wasn't comparing it to Firefox/Chromium just to be clear. Also, Brendan Eich says that the browser doesn't support Adobe Flash simply because it's obsolete and vulnerable. So, that probably has little to do with it being based off Chromium. You're probably right about it not lasting long though. Thanks for your feedback.

Too many Chromium based browsers, it'll die soon.


It's pretty much the same as Opera, and there is no reason for it to be around.
