Boxing with dry ice? #1
Could someone explain boxing with dry ice to me? I understand the point is to spoof the weight of an item that you're sending back. I just don't see how this is advantageous. If I initiate a return for a laptop and box an equal weight of dry ice and send that back, how will that help me? Why not just send any random crap item that also weighs the same? I know dry ice sublimates and will eventually all disappear, leaving the box empty, but what is the point of this? Won't they realize they've been duped once they open the box? I've read mothered's blog post about boxing but I still don't quite understand.

Upon receiving an empty box, they'd believe the laptop was stolen In transit.

On the grounds they're liable for loss of goods, they'd cover all costs by way of refunding your order.

How will you explain a totally different Item (that's not part of their Inventory), ended up In the return?

Makes perfect sense to me, thanks! This seems like a reliable method, and it puts all the responsibility on them. Would this be a good method to SE a laptop?

That's the objective of the boxing method.

It can be done with a laptop, but If It's rather heavy, you'd need to accurately calculate the dry Ice sublimation time.
