Big Brother and You! 07-28-2013, 12:36 AM

Anonymity a word thrown around a lot by people these days and especially now since the PRISM scandal; I have recently changed up my whole way of thinking about using the internet because I don't want any government to spy on what I do.
For starters, I read Someones tutorial about how to erase yourself from the internet but I have a need for internet for everyday life and so do most of you. Basically I'm writing this as a tutorial on how to stay invisible from PRISM and whatever else might be out there.
Emails: First of all most email providers scan your mail for add placement, if you have add-blocker its no problem. But If you use an email provider like:
-Gmail
-Outlook
-Aol
-Yahoo
They all willingly give your information up to big brother and well, I don't like that. For starters, you might want to look into these free email providers because the don't scan your emails for adds as well as not giving up information to big brother; because they are small mainly based in strong public privacy countries.
Providers like:
-Gmx.com
-MyKolab (Free for right now)
-Autistici/Inventati
-Posteo.de (German)
-Riseup.net
These are private email providers and all of them are free except MyKolab because they recently became big time. These emails work with Imap and Pop3 services like Claw mail and Thunderbird.
Also if you really want to be secure with your emails, encrypt them with an PGP encryption from services like:
-Enigmail
-Gpg4win
-GNU privacy guard
Peer2Peer Communications: Thanks to d4rks4b3rs4n  I've got some insight on a very cool P2P program and I've learned about some others with a bit of searching.
-Bitmessage: "a P2P communications protocol used to send encrypted messages to another person or to many subscribers."
A very useful and multi os P2P encrypted communication even though I'm just getting used to it Me and my little bro love it!
-TorChat: Another P2P communication program with an encryption that is also mutli os. Torchat even thought its name has "Tor" in it in is not a part of the Tor official tor project.
-Gibberbot: an OTR messaging service for Android. Simple set up and then you're off send your plans or just sexy messages though Facebook,MyspaceIm,GChatwith out big brother looking into your messages. This is by far the coolest messaging service I've seen yet, this service works with almost all platforms and also with a few OTR programs like Pigdin for Windows or Mac with Adium or Linux with Jitsi.
-Pidgin: Another OTR messaging service for the windows os
Browsers: We need a browser to browse the internet of course
but sometimes these browsers can be used against us.
-Internet explorer (Ie): If you are still using this please come to the 21st century
-Google chrome: A good free browser put out by Google for your convenience, and well its a pretty fast browser IMO but Google uses this browser to track you like they do with there Phone os Android but we'll talk about that later on.
Of course you could always use your vpn and add blocker but why post the risk if you're Black Hat right?
-Firefox: This browser is put out under GNU policies by Mozilla and had a ton of friendly addons and over all is just a cool browser. To become anonymous with this browser is very simple because it has its own Proxy support and ect. You can also use some very cool addons which we'll get into right now.
-Tor Browser: Part of the Tor anonymity project this browse is also under a GNU policies and is cool as Hell, Its all about privacy this browser bounces you from peer to peer from what gather to keep you out of the watchful eye of big brother. Check it out for more info

*Note there are many more browsers but these are the main three
Addons: Addons for our browsers are basically free software made by people like you and me for convenience or our nefarious activities. I use a lot of addons and most of them make my life easier but here are a few that will help you stay invisible on the web.
-AnonymoX: "AnonymoX is an initiative for anonymization in the internet. The aim is to restore the users right of anonymity in the web" ~taken form the main page. This addon has a free service that lets you change your Ip very easily and is very user friendly but since it is a free service you get some adds every now and then or you can buy the premium and surf anonymously and add free.
-Disconnect: A very Cool addon that has so many features it's outstanding! I don't know where to begin. Disconnect offers encryption for things you share with social networking sites. Disconnect also offers privacy by blocking sights that track you and use your information to show you addons or send you spam. Speed because disconnect blocks trackers and other bs your surfing speed will be notably faster. Disconnect is free but they also have a donation service where you can donate 1 penny to 1 million dollars.
-HTTPS-Everywhere: this addon uses and HTTPS encryption on many website and automatically adds an HTTPS encryption to most websites that do not have a HTTPS encryption.
-NoScript: A addon that blocks java script, java and flash from untrusted websites, at first this addon is tedious but after you get the sights you visit the most in the trusted selection it is smooth sailing.
-RequestPolicy: an addon that basically lets you track the request the web page you're on makes and allows you to control what shows up and what gets blocked. This addon is much like Disconnect and Noscript combined.
-DuckDuckGo Plus: a addon/search bar made from the creators of the anonymous search engine DuckDuckGo.com, with this you get to add this search bar in place of the main that Firefox has like Bing and Google.
*There are many more addons like these and probably better ones out there but I'm doing this on things in know.
Search engines: Like many of us we all had to Google something one time or another maybe for a research paper or a school project maybe some porn ^^ anyways search engines like Google,Bing,Yahoo send what you search and what you open from that search to big brother. Now there still is no way to search with out giving up a little bit of info but these search engines make it harder with qualities like no logs and such.
-Startpage: is a SaaS hosted in the USA/Netherlands, and provides you with anonymous Google search and image results.
-YaCy: is a promising project that offers fully decentralized peer-to-peer search. The more people who start using it, the better the results will become.
-DuckDuckGo: is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) hosted around the world that provides you with search results from many sources.
Smart Phones: Smart phones are a part of everyday life and we use them constantly but unfortunately our providers are using there os to track us. Ios is tricky because they believe privacy but recently the court has been forcing them to help big brother break there own encryption and track ios users and there is no alternative to ios for the iPhone. On the other hand Android tracks us and willing gives out information to big brother,"Thanks Google.." but there is a away to use your favorite smartphone with out being tracked:
-Replicant: Replicant is a fully free Android distribution running on several devices made by some hackers who are just giving it a try. The Software seems to be nice and works smoothly but I can't afford phone service so i can not tell you if you can use it with your providers sorry.
-Linux Mobile: Not very common and hard to find a good distro but when you do you wonder why you got all hyped up on android all of those years ago. Currently Ubuntu and its parent company are fundraising 32 million for the Edge, the first linux distro mass produced phone but they only have 30 days to raise the money and last time I checked it was at 1.2 mill.
-Cyanogen Mod: an Aftermarket firmware distribution for several Android devices. *I have no hands on experience with this yet.
-F-droid: is not a smart phone os but a Google play alternative.
With this tutorial you should be able to hinder big brothers spying capabilities on you and help you have less of an internet fingerprint. I believe it its Possible to eventually remove you;re self from big brothers radar but right now it is seemingly impossible, for me even harder because I've put my information out there so much its hard to go back a remove every last piece of my real information alas Nothing is impossible.
I hope you enjoyed this resource because it is my first and the teetering point if I should do more or not. Feedback is needed because I don't know how you feel if you don't tell me.
-Hydrodynamiks
The Post is very bland and has no color or heading and is hard to read but I do not know how to fix this if you can provide a link or something that would be very much appreciated!

i agree with you that one should be allowed to know whatever he pleases but i believe that if they find (wether PRISM is legal or not) that you have plans to build an atomic bomb (eg) than it is highly suspicious. This way i'm not trying to defend NSA, just a point of view!
