Bestbuy product swap 07-10-2023, 08:45 PM

I have a Logitech G Pro X Superlight and I'm having issues with the scroll wheel and I don't have to receipt for warranty. I'm planning on buying one at Bestbuy and replacing the mouse and returning it, but I can't seal the product because it's shrink wrap sealed on the outside. Will bestbuy check the serial number of the mouse?

Okay well if you have it and it's still under warranty (despite not having the receipt) you could honestly just use the gift method and do the rest legitimately. There's no 100% guarantee of anything but I can say with a very high degree of confidence best buy will not only not look at the serial number, you likely would be able to to return it without any issue, shrink wrap or not.

My friend had actually done this exact same thing with a Logitech mouse and keyboard combo, and they mentioned their plan to repeat it every 4-5 months or so. They thoroughly cleaned the keyboard and mouse, then took them to the store, leaving them in the car. They went ahead and purchased a new set, but before returning to the store, they prepared the employee by asking about compatibility with a very obscure product, something the employee wouldn't know the answer to. They let out a sigh and expressed their concern about getting the wrong item, emphasizing that they didn't want to go through the hassle of returning it. They even asked if they could do the return together with the employee.
Afterward, my friend went to the car, carefully repackaged the items they needed to return (they even took the batteries), and then went back into the store. They also found success with this method using printer cartridges, where they used a scale and moldable plastic to create a weight or simply brought an empty cartridge of the same model. Some of those cartridges still sell well without their original packaging. Additionally, my friend always made sure to pay in cash for these transactions.
