BestBuy conditional refund for DNA - Help Needed #1
Hi, I am wondering what I should do in this situation. I called Bestbuy and claimed DNA on a >150 dollar item. The agent said that she began processing the refund, but said I would need to cooperate with the delivery company, and I got the following email, which I paraphrased:

"We have opened a trace for the lost package with the carrier. The carrier will contact you, most likely by email, to confirm information about your package. In order for the investigation to be completed, you will need to collaborate with the carrier. Please note that if the carrier is unable to complete their investigation, it may affect the resolution of this matter."

I know that I am not supposed to communicate with the carrier, but it seems like they made this a condition in order for the refund to succeed. Should I respond to them or not? Thanks.

I feel like they won't bother following up on this investigation but my idea would be to respond to them but to be as vague as possible in my answers to not give them more than they ask, and respond after 1-2 days to each message drag it out.

The forum is going downhill.

I have many SEs I would like to share with other contributors. Unfortunately, that is a very small percentage of the overall community, and getting smaller by the day. I have no incentive to contribute publicly and reward the undeserving. If you feel the same and would like to discuss privately, please reach out.

you cant simply use the old method " hey my order didn't arrive HALP ! " there must be reasons to take that leads to a conclusion where your package didn't arrive .

EDIT : an investigation process is essential

I don't understand how this is relevant to my question

"We have opened a trace for the lost package with the carrier" you must wait as there is nothing you can do before a legitimate response of investigation result
