Best buy in person se(sealed box method) #1
Looking to se an asus laptop worth about 2k. I had to do instore pickup but now I have it in hand. Planning on replacing the laptop with my old laptop that I bought from BB as well. There is about a 400g variance between the 2, but I plan to bring it down to under 100g. Only possible issue is, my old laptop is a 15.6 while the new is a 17.3. Should I still use my old unit for the se?

As long as there's no signs of tampering whatsoever, It's fine.

The objective of the sealed box method, Is to (seemingly) return the Item untouched, thereby It will not give reason to check It.

And you were right. But before I get into that, I'll explain how I went about this.
Went home, used a heat gun to soften the glue and carefully lift the "sealed" edges. Took new laptop and charger and put it on a scale. Measured a 550g variance between the new and old laptop. Ended up bringing the gram variance to within 60g. Sealed it up and went to store.
Lady asks, what's the reason for return.
I tell her the "person" I was gifting it to wants something else. She quickly looks at my seals( that I undone) and processes my return. In and out in 5 minutes or maybe even less.
What I'm noticing is in store SE's using the sealed box method, have an extremely high chance of success if you meticulously follow the steps.

I was always confident of Its success.

Thanks for sharing your experience. No doubt It will help members to SE under similar circumstances.

You know if each product is unique in system or all barcode same when worker scan buy or return? Can product be trace to him that return eventually?

Each barcode must obviously represent the product It's assigned to.

When an Item has been returned, placed Into stock and then picked, packed, dispatched and delivered to another buyer, It's Impossible to pinpoint who's guilty of tampering with It.

What I mean is for example Beats headphones. All beat headphone same when scanned or are each unique in inventory from each other?

In terms of tech-based products that contain a serial number, IMEI and the like, the barcode Is dedicated to the device - just to Identify It for services and warranty purposes against the sale.

Can you tell us a description and the brand of the laptop for reference?
