I would say One.com is a rather good webhosting company. There's a huge support section where you can find a huge load of Q&A. Other pros: Its cheap!, you get webmail included, very customisable, cloud storage with app for smartphone, easy setup and easy understandable UI. I could go on!! So far I don't have any cons...

Shared host: Bluehost and Asmallorange. Mainly for price and service.
VPS: DigitalOcean. Much cheaper than others with the same spec.

I would say to just go with a VPS and hook up cloudflare to your domain. It's a good and cheap way to go. I am currently using webkeepers.com and they are pretty good.
