you can easily merge a .bat with any file by using the copy /b command, but therefore it won't execute the 'hidden' bat, since it will open the file with the associated extension of your 'main' file...
example:
hide a .bat file called 'test.bat' inside an image called 'kitten.jpg' and name the resulting image 'pussy.jpg'
start by zipping the .bat file into 'battest.rar' f.e.
open a cmd prompt
> copy /b kitten.jpg + battest.rar pussy.jpg

again.. when opening the image, the .bat file won't be executed.. but if needed it can be 'extracted' from the image again...just rename the resulting image to .rar again and extract...
