RE: Banner Designed my me 03-20-2015, 02:51 AM

I also feel that it is too tall for a youtube banner design, but I'll give it a proper rating <3
First, lets talk about font choice, you used the same font throughout the whole design, which in most cases makes it look clean and professional, so that was a good choice, What I don't understand with the font choice is why not find a font that goes with the R logo on each end? You want it to flow properly correct? It may just be me but that seems like a better choice.
Secondly, color scheme. Let's take a count of all the colors you have; Red, Gray, White, Green. Just look on a color wheel, you will see that none of these colors present any contrast nor any warmth/cool feeling when combined with each other, which in art is a huge thing, if not one of the most important. Also, the one random green "lens flare" is so out of place and random that I fail to see its point in the artwork. Luckily the red and white clash enough to leave an impression, but it doesn't do much with 90% of the background being black, it lacks professional appeal color wise. If you go to most websites, look at the background, at least 80% will not have just black backgrounds, it will be an off-beat gray, or a pattern that makes it something more interesting than black.
Third, effects. Let's just look at the background again, there is glass, which if used correctly can compliment a piece quite nicely, yet it is the only thing distinguished in the background besides the black space, this causes it to look random and unprofessional. I suggest adding some other effects, to at least weaken the dominant feeling coming from the glass, to make the glass an actual background effect rather than a focus point. Again, with the random green flare, what is it's point? its out of the color scheme, and placed in such a random spot that it has little effect other than to seem unprofessional. I suggest moving it and duplicating it, or stretching it for each of the two social media links, and changing the color to something more suiting, like maroon, or a shade of red, or white/gray.
Lastly, position. The position of the main text, and the "the official channel of", are fine, its the social media and random logo images that seem to be really out of place, as well as the flare. I suggest either tightening them together, or using guidelines when you place things, to use photography's rule of thirds, to draw more attention to the things you want, while keeping it professional looking. Another thing about the random logo's, they seem really far from the text, and (in my opinion) one should be reflected so that they look almost as arrows leading the viewer's eyes into the text, but logos are logos, so I won't get more into that.
Other than that, it's not terrible, or done in paint.
take this with a grain of salt, don't get too upset over what I say, as I am just trying to help, after all.
rating= 3/10
4/10 (if you are new to designing)
