I didn't say I don't know if it's infected or not. I said it's not my responsibility in case that there's a potential threat in the file.

The reason is because I have personally not encountered any malicious files, but it's your choice to download it.

If you want to download it, the risk is yours to take, if there is a risk.

If you think it's infected, then don't download it.
