Since (to the best of my knowledge) awards are given manually by staff, and that sounds like a right pain in the ass for them, I'm proposing an automatic award system.

It would only be used for some awards (one's with generic prerequisites [i.e., nothing opinionated like Pirate or Artist]) and would do some kind of sweep every so often to see if the prereqs have been met by any users, and if so, would give them the award.
It's often the outcasts, the iconoclasts ... those who have the least to lose because they
don't have much in the first place, who feel the new currents and ride them the farthest.

Had the same idea before but never brought it up.
totally agree with this.
There could be like small automatic rewards such as "first 100 posts" or let's say "Active 7 days straight" etc nothing too fancy.
