Asus 4090 GPU RMA 03-24-2023, 02:49 AM
#1
Hello everyone, got some material to start an RMA process for a gpu from asus. I've checked and they do not provide a prepaid label so will have to buy shipping on my own, would this affect the SE? Also I was considering boxing with dry ice, and the agent I spoke with said to take a picture of the product before sending it for repair as sometime packages arrive damaged to their warehouse. So might just have to grab a pic online. Also anyone with previous experiences with asus rma? thanks

Check their warranty TOS to see if they are responsible for lost shipments, if it is your own label then probably not.

Yeah I just checked and this is what they say:
General. Unless your warranty contains two-way shipping, you are solely responsible for
shipping your device to ASUS. ASUS shall not be liable for any loss or damage to your
device while in transit to ASUS, therefore you are responsible for insuring your shipment.
If your shipment is received damaged or lost in transit, a claim will need to be filed with
the carrier. If you insured your shipment and the claim is approved by the carrier, a
comparable replacement of your device may be provided. If the claim is approved by the
carrier but the shipment was not insured, the amount of the claim paid by the carrier
would be provided to you. If the carrier denies the claim, ASUS shall not be liable for any
loss or damage to your device while in transit. You agree that ASUS may use used or
refurbished parts or devices to repair or replace your device, and that all replaced parts
become property of ASUS. You acknowledge that all devices will be returned to carrier or
ASUS specifications and will be factory reset. ASUS reserves the right to refuse to
service any device. ASUS may subcontract with independent contractors or service
providers to service your device.
So if I insure it, then file a claim with carrier, could be approved and I'd receive a replacement. At least that's what I get from it. The thing is, how probable is it that the claim would be approved after boxing? Also I plan on using fake name/ when filing a claim with carrier, would they ask for ID or similar documents?
