Arrow Vs. Flash Wallpaper! #1
Hey, so i was bored and thought i'd try to make a wallpaper for the first time. I decided i would make an arrow vs flash wallpaper and i think the result is pretty good. C&C is appreciated and rating out of X/10 please. I would also like to know if you would use this wallpaper.

6/10 Not bad, not good.

You did a good enough job cropping them out, but it does still look a little cropped. I notice you kind of shaved the head of arrow, and the chin of flash. It's usually the little things that make it look the way it is, and the idea of cropping is to not let the person know it was cropped out. It looks massively cropped around the face of flash. Separate the layer, and with a 25% hardness eraser slowly remove the white around his face and head.

The font choice is pretty bad, it doesn't flow at all with the wallpaper itself. If you're serious about designing this, I would suggest downloading some premium fonts (around 20-30) and just go through them all until you've found one that looks decent enough. Eventually you'll just know which font to go to. If you're not so serious about it and you just want to use the wallpaper yourself, just go with whatever you think looks good. Because a lot of things may not seem as cool to you as it does everyone else, as everyone has different tastes.

Whatever you did to make the lightning bolt blurry kind of failed, because there are still clear straight lines on there.

Things I like that you did that you could incorporate into future projects:
The green and red mixture of the blurry background (Looks really good compared to what I've seen).
The outer glow on the font looks not too blurry, and not too original. I would suggest maybe splitting the colors down the middle of "Arrow".
You kept the lights behind them (foggy green and bright yellow/white). It's the little things that make a lot of the picture.
Looks kind of like you added a second O and W behind the front font, making a cool little reflect effect. It doesn't look that great, but I'm glad you attempted it.

Hope this helps you. If you need further assistance, my PM is always open.

5/10

Sorry but I think original one is better, also both are not widescreen. And its better to use original text fonts.

Thanks, wow that helped identify a lot of flaws with my wallpaper that i didn't even notice. The reason i used that font was because in Arrow they actually use the same font.

And yes, i did add a second layer of the text behind the one in front. I made it 'wavy' like the lightning bolt but ended up rubbing some bits out so you can't really see all of it.

To conclude, i'd like to thank you for the tips and i will surely contact you if i need help as you seem to know what you are doing.

Is it me or do I see close to no difference?.. Or is it just because I haven't slept for 2 days.

But that's exactly what I've done xD. I used the arrow font for the arrow text.

too blurry, and you can use better fonts. The font really bothers me. Also the way colors mix look pretty unnatural
