Apple iPhone 13 EB Help #1
Hi everyone,

I have bought an iPhone 13 from Apple in an attempt to EB it and claim their "one time exception" as others have with fairly high success. No one was home today for its delivery and it has been taken into the post office for collection tomorrow. Will this have any effect on the success of the EB?

Also, has anyone had any luck with FTID with Apple? (Given that I also edit the tracking barcode to a neighbouring company). Or is this a waste of time and effort?

Just fyi I'm in Australia.

Any help or advice appreciated.

Your item is likely too heavy for the EB method.
About FTID: I know mothered is not a fan of this (check socialengineers.net, his site, to read why). And I am new to SEing aswell so I have only been researching mothereds' methods.

For future reference, a collection point has no relevance to claiming an empty box.

That aside, as stated, the phone Is too heavy for the EB/missing Item method.

Why didn't you hit Harvey Norman, Officeworks or JB Hi-Fi?

What would be the best way going about this and would it be possible with Apple?

I know EB is conventionally not meant to work as it is over 120g, but this seems to not be an issue with the recent Apple EB refunds. They are even processing refunds for heavier items like iPads and MacBooks (or so I hear).

And I in future will target easier stores as you said, but I'm just trying to get an easy refund from Apple and I hear it is currently very easy even with EB. I'll keep you posted with my results tomorrow. Even though everyone is having high success with it I feel like it's not going to go my way lol.

Be careful.

If an external Investigation Is opened, whereby the weight Is cross-checked with the carrier's records, the SE Is destined to fail. Hopefully they do not go down that route.

Good luck.

Good luck.

Worst case scenario and they completely shut off my attempt with weight evidence, I should still be able to return the product as normal shouldn't I?

But even-worse case and they don't allow me that I'll just use the phone. Need an upgrade anyway xD

UPDATE:
Spoke to customer service on the phone (live chat not available). Told them the box was completely empty no iPhone package inside.

It concluded with him saying they have to conduct an investigation of some kind, and asked if I am to be compensated will I prefer a refund or replacement. I think he mentioned sending someone to my house to see if the box was tampered with.

I opted for a replacement as it seems more believable to my case of just wanting an upgrade from my current iPhone and I assume they hand out replacements easier. I am happy for either and I can probably even just send back the replacement if I decide to anyway.
Fingers crossed here, the only thing they have against me is if they weight check with the carrier. But it has worked for others I hope I am the same.
