I recently purchased an iPhone with some other items around 6 months ago, the iPhone is still under warranty and I was wondering whether it’s possible to claim under warranty the battery is leaking and therefore I cannot return the item due to post office not accepting it due to health risk. Has anyone tried this and will this result in a blocked iPhone through the IMEI (phone was purchased directly from Apple).

I recently did a successful refund on a Macbook, they did not block out my IMEI on it. Not too sure about a cellular device though.

Do you mind saying more about this refund? How exactly did you manage to pull it off? Are you in the UK?

I'm from the USA, and I paid a refunder to do my order. Everything went through well (circa 2023) But I believe Apple is starting to patch up as I recently got an L on my Mac Studio Refund.

Any idea what method they used? LIT, FTID or some scan?

MacBooks do not have IMEI’s, but they may have blacklisted that SN from any warranty service. As for cell phones, I’m not too sure. I’d imagine they would blacklist the IMEI, which would mean it would be useable as an iPod touch, but not much else in the States.
