Anybody using Bugtraq 2 Black Widow???

When I was first trying to learn hacking, I was advised to go with linux. Then I found out that there are many ready-made PenTesting distributions available. The main noticeable item was BackTrack (now Kali). Spent some time with it. It was good. But even though kali is good and have got better support from offensive security, I dont like its new interface. Later, it came to my attention that there are other distros like backtrack avilable... Among them, my favorite is Bugtraq 2 Black Widow. Its a very good styled distro but not much famous like backtrack. It comes bundled with plenty of tools like backtrack including metasploit and armitage. The main features that I like about this distro are the appearance and that it comes bundled with many RAT programs including

DarkComet RAT 5.3
Bitfrost
Bosok
PoisonIVY
PythoRAT
FrutasRAT
DNA RAT
jRAT

etc...

The only thing that causes me trouble is the use of Spanish language at many places within the OS. But that is nor big problem we can convert it into fully English easily.

You can choose from a kde, gnome, xfce and suse versions.

I remember they came here to "launch" (spam) that software. few things about it i didnt like.

First off... they capitalized on an already known and respect name - bugtraq - that they obviously had no connection with. Probably to legitimize it and get people to download, but still LQ imo.

Second... the download was a whopping 15GB. Thats like up to 20x the size of a basic install and still 5x the size of backtrack5. Thats fucking BLOATWARE.

No its not 15 GB as you say. Its just 3.5 GB. But ofcourse they might have took a name similar to backtrack. I am using it dont have any problem yet.

I most certainly recall it being 15gb when they had the beta. Perhaps its changed or improved? i dont know...

And no they didnt choose a name like backtrack... they used bugtraq... which is an established security mailing list that they are in no way associated with.

I've used it, overall I liked it. nice toolset but I lost the intresst for it Smile

I prefer more light weight systems.

the best thing i like about this os is that it comes with many RAT programs and botnets like zeus. + the overall appearance is also good.

Yes.. I totally agree with that. But everybody needs to begin somewhere... RATs are best for a newbies satisfaction. But not just rats, it have many other tools also like Kali.
