I wanted to do other e-codes for steam games but i'm hesitant to do it because if they end up sending me another code instead of a refund, then i'm stuck with 2 of them.  Any suggestions around that ?

Try G2A, just remember when you try SE G2A always purchase from sellers with little/no orders. Makes it much easier as they have less experience, although their prices may be higher, you will be getting a refund in the end so it doesn't matter too much.

I looked but the least i can find is one with about 500 reviews

Unlucky.
From my experience people selling gc's tend to be more experienced, hence why I target game sellers.
