Any good Maya tutorials? #1
I recently got AutoDesk Maya 2015, but I'm not quite sure what I'm doing Confused

Does anyone have any good resources or tutorials so that I'll be able to learn more and get better with it?

Well done. Autodesk Maya is a very versatile program that has amazing potential. The real question is, what do you want to use it for? I personally don't use Autodesk too much anymore, but I sometimes use it for 3d printing and modeling. But it can be used for much, much more than that.

I personally use opensource CAD software because I get many more options and controls versus proprietary software like AutoCAD. I'm certainly not saying that AutoCAD's bad but I've grown to using homebrew/opensource software for most of my 2d and 3d modeling needs. Plus, It's way cheaper and usually has a very dedicated community around the program.

I just want to use it to create models and animations. I just need to figure out how to use it properly. I know how to create basic shapes and lighting and textures and render them, but I'm not sure how to animate objects or do anything else with it.

The most advanced software I know how to use well is Photoshop, and that's only because I took actual classes on it a while back Tongue
