I live in Colorado and the state itself has seen some pretty crazy shit (look up Aurora,Co) where I live is very rural, middle of the desert and didn't even ping on anyone's radar (albeit a drunk did call another one the N bomb and a big fight broke out, but a fight happens every weekend at the local watering hole).

With the racial tensions, they're probably just distracted from what they'd normally be fighting about. Aggressive drunks will always be aggressive drunks.

That's not normal behavior anywhere, but tensions probably make it a more common occurrence. Race probably has less to do with it, than angry drunks being angry drunks.
