An idea #1
I had an idea of creating somewhat of a reputation system. However this would not be your everyday ( normal ) rep system.

To the point, my idea is to create a reputation system for Garry's Mod but with a twist that the in-game rep system is linked with website. If you got rep in-game it would also be shown/updated on the forum and vice versa.

So in order to give user rep you must sign in using your forum account. This would also apply to everything else you want to do.

How would I go about doing this, my thinking is that I would have to use the same database for both forum and in-game rep system that would store the rep itself.

I would love to hear thoughts on this idea and any help with what I would need to do to make this idea come alive are welcome and appreciated.
Life asked Death, "Why do people love me but hate you?" and death responded, "Because you're the beautiful lie and I'm the painful truth."

Lots of servers already do this so it's not exactly a unique feature, but it's still cool none the less. Most developers just link the Steam ID to all your stats and then you use the Steam API to log into their forum, same as how some log-in screens show your time played, in game cash, etc... they just grab your Steam ID on your first log-in and then from then on out, the Steam ID is saved in a MySQL database and every time you log-in the server re-grabs your ID and matches it to the one currently in the database to show your current stats.

You'll need to program a Garry's Mod server plugin high interfaces with a database. Then link that database into your app's user database.
