Amazon wants completed police investigation #1
Ordered 2 CPUs recently from Amazon, but they turned out to be empty. Both packages had only cooler in, someone had previously returned these items without CPUs inside. What a funny story I wasn't even planning on SEing them. I know they were returned because packages were mailed from Amazon Returns and factory seals were very poorly laid pack, it was visible both packages were tampered with. I contacted amazon support claiming the truth this time, but they wanted a police report. After getting one, Amazon now wants police to conclude their investigation but we all know this will never happen. Never seen this before as they comply after police report but this time they want police to finish the report before refunding me. Is it a pretty much dead end or anything to do here? I also refunded bose earbuds few months ago on this same account.

Thank you for sending us the confirmation that a report has been filed with the local authorities. Once the investigation is completed by the local authorities, please contact us with a PDF, JPG or PNG copy of the completed police report to the following address: uk-deliveryinvestigation@Amazon.co.uk.

I'm 100% sure police will never bother even looking at it. Maybe if i email cops and tell them its solved?

This Is just a routine response and nothing more.

What they mean by "once the Investigation Is completed by the local authorities", Is: "once the police have finalized the report".  It all relates to paperwork.

Rest assured, they won't.

Don't get Involved In their procedures- there's no need to do so.

Wait for the PR and give It to Amazon as stated In their request.

I do not think cops will do anything further with this as they emailed me already saying it has been registered in the database. The report they sent me is the same I initially sent to Amazon. Did some research and this thing will be probably open til the case expires in few years, so I don't see a way they could complete the investigation. Maybe I'm wrong

I'm not following what you're saying.

What do you mean by this, namely "expires In a few years".

I meant to say there will be no completed report before crime expires. I got scammed by a local guy over the internet few years ago, police never bothered to do anything with the report, it's still there waiting for conclusion

Got It.

Unless the police Is pursuing a criminal case, a PR Is otherwise required predominantly for administration purposes.
