Amazon boxing method for $5000 item #1
I'm planning on buying a $5000 camera from amazon and then saying they sent me the wrong item, a much older version of that camera which is only a few hundred dollars. Is this foolproof?

My amazon was flagged a couple years ago for dna but ive heard the flag disappears after like 20 transactions or something. Is this true? Have probably purchased like $4000 of legit shit after the flag

Not foolproof, quite the opposite.
Research the WIR method. The wrong item you would claim to have received must be currently sold by @mazon, not some old discontinued reference.

They have the old model in stock, $700 and sold by a third party but fulfilled by amazon. Also since the cameras look almost identical I might be able to just swap them out and return the old one, maybe throw on some heat shrink so they don't check the serial number.

IME they will find out, then tell you they disposed of your old camera + deny refund, unless you return the actual item you were supposed to.
Heat shrink might work if you're insanely lucky, but that's still betting on them not finding out (unlikely).

WIR method has the benefit of not trying to hide the fuckery from @mazon.
You tell them right away there was some mistake, hoping they will take the blame for it.

Yeah, got a $5K camera expect Amazon to investigate hard so you’ll need a foolproof plan, a back up or be prepared to take the loss
