Couldn't you buy something and try to get a refund from the GC into cash? I'm trying that currently from an old GC I used, problem is I didn't spend any money on the item only used the GC. Be a useful way of getting around relatives giving you GCS for christmas who don't like giving money.

I don’t believe GCs are refundable as in they cannot be redeemed for cash once added to the account.
