Amazon Statutory Declaration #1
Has anyone done these and experienced any subsequent ramifications? I am in Australia FYI.

My DNA refund has been rejected but looks like it could be approved if I submit a statutory declaration (email I received from Amazon is below). Any advice?

We’ve fully investigated this matter, including with the delivery carrier who delivered the package. Based on the outcome of our investigations, we believe that the package was properly delivered. In particular we have considered information from our records, as follows which show the item as delivered:

- the timed geocode stamp of the delivery location;

- information collected at the point of delivery; and

- the package weight and reported condition.

Accordingly, based on our investigations, we aren't able to provide a replacement or refund for this order at this time.

Please contact us again and include a PDF, JPG or PNG copy of the Statutory Declaration of the applicable state to the following address: [Email address], which be downloaded from the following links. Be sure to include key information including:

1. Date and place it was created.

2. Signatory witness with the contact data and is within the list of authorized witnesses for the applicable state where the incident is being reported.

3. The wording suggested to be included in the Statutory Declaration.

"I confirm that I haven’t received the item/s I ordered from Amazon with order number [insert], being [product description].

I have checked with other members of my household, and around my property, and have satisfied myself that I have no knowledge of the whereabouts of the above missing item/s.

I notify Amazon as soon as possible if the above missing item/s come/s into my possession.

I agree to cooperate with Amazon and/or the police in the event of any investigation into the above missing item/s.

I understand that a person who intentionally makes a false statement in a statutory declaration is guilty of an offense."

Why not file the stat dec?

It can be signed at any chemist - Priceline Pharmacy, Chemist Warehouse etc.

Perhaps I am being overly cautious/paranoid that something bad will occur if I do. But thinking logically, there's no way Amazon's going to pursue a $700 refund via the Police. Right?

Man, Amazon doesn't go with the police over these small amounts, they will give you the refund without any questions asked if you give it the stat dec. How much work police would have if they try to pursue every Australian for these things.Think logically.
I don't believe in what I say. Everything is just fictional and made for a good laugh.

I don't answer PM.

Seldom do the police get Involved with a one-off mediocre claim.
