Amazon SE for DJI phantom 3 pro battery #1
Anyone dealt with se'ing these types of batteries ? I think they're sold on Amazon by independents but spendy ($150ish) I noticed mine current one from 2016-2017 has a removable serial number. Never used as I couldn't find it for longest time and now can't get it to charge so want to see if there was a way and if they've changed ser # application method on the batteries (was a sticker before). Thought maybe I could go with it being a "dead item" and do a refund? Let me know the thoughts.

If there's a way to just swap the cells and say they were not charging that would work if I don't have to cut the housing otherwise can the integrated data board be swapped so it goes back with original board. Does the battery or drone store the battery cycle, charging data and logs for it?

IF "short circuited" or swollen will they just tell you to toss it rather than take the chance of a fire? When these cells cut loose they'll make a heck of a fire.

New to this stuff so learning as well.

If you're talking about;

Powerextra Phantom 3 Battery, 15.2V 4480mAh LiPo Intelligent Battery for DJI Phantom 3 Standard Advanced Professional and 4K Drones

These are 'fulfilled by Amazon', which means you can use the 'wrong item received' method pretty easily.

I mean, you could go down the route of saying it has short circuited / swollen and could cause a potential fire if you was to return it. But it's entirely up to you and how confident you feel. It's a small priced item and if your account is in good standing, they shouldn't fight you on this and take your word for it IMO.

Let's put it this way, it can sometimes depend on the representative you speak to. I once said that a Nintendo Switch overheated and smoke was coming out of it and they literally replaced it and told me to dispose of the original order. I then told them that the replacement was the wrong item completely and I'm sick of being messed around and wanted a refund, they refunded me on the spot and that was that. Considering they had just given me two Switches AND a full refund and closed the case completely, I'd say they won't fight you on a £60 battery.

Try not to complicate your SE with too many details.

What's the weight of the battery?

it leaked and you had to dispose because of small children at your house.

I lost this thread due to unfamiliarity with how to find my old posts. I also sometimes go more than a week w/o check'n email.

I think I'll have to look into this.

I do have a way to make the dead battery swell if pics needed I believe. Have to brush up on my battery skills since been awhile. Thanks!

Also got ya on the details thing. [emoji106]

Everything I'm finding is sold by different companies and fulfilled by Amazon with the AtoZ guarantee. It's battery so shipping is free but not prime either which is expected.

This means any returns would go to them and not Amazon correct? I still like the swollen battery idea and could find a pic online if needed or make my dead one swell if necessary hopefully .

I was doing some looking on Amazon for the item weight just in case but couldn't find.

Did notice that u.s. there's no fulfilled by amazon so I guess this is a no go unless there's something I'm missing. All sellers seemed to be hobby shop type names and they'd catch quickly.

I've ordered hobby shop chippers and they actually shipped directly from the hobby shops because there's a couple ideas but they weren't on the other deal. I do know most hobby shops especially our local ones when you buy a battery they check the cell voltage on each battery to make sure they gave it to you in a good state.

I haven't looked yet but there's something about they store the charge data inside the battery where if you plug it into a drone it'll be available for review. Since I just recently found mine because I have a couple different kinds and I had forgot I had this one out of five or six I've never had this one activated, updated and to be honest with the good battery I have I can't even get it to sync which is weird because I've did the updates as it said to but that's for the forums I need to go post there about that. Would be nice to fly it though.

Scratching my head.
