Good, there's ample time to formulate the method.

In this case, both methods are much of a muchness.

Two questions that I wanted to ask you:

1) They will be requesting OTP for delivery today. Is there any way to bypass this? Never happened to me before btw.
2) When exactly do they weigh the parcel after return starts? If a driver comes and collect the parcel from my house, when exactly do they do that?

Alternatively, could I claim that there was a different item in place? Like something else but not the device I ordered?

An OTP can be circumvented, but It takes an exceptional set of manipulative skills to deceive the driver.

On the grounds It's not a direct shipment, at the carrier's depot and when received by the company In the Inwards goods centre.

Would the wrong item received work? What if I claimed that there was catfood in the box? It has happened so many times with real purchases.

Hello, to atleast get out of the OTP and have a chance of being refunded you will have to say that the driver called you on your number to get the OTP, you provided the OTP since you did not know that, and then the order status changed to delivered without actually being delivered.

How certain is this? Never heard of the technique before.

There is no certainty, you will almost always have to submit a PR as there is a special team called CAP and they require a PR to refund. But telling them that the driver took the otp by phone they might not even ask you and just refund as an exception. Its written in the policies.

Noted. Let's see how this one goes.

This won't work. They are going to ask for PR anyways. Basically them including OTP and you giving it to the driver in any capacity takes away the responsibility from them. That's the whole point.

Update. I think I got scammed?! So the courier attempted to deliver on Sunday, but despite being home, nobody rang my doorbell. Funny thing is that it was marked as an attempted delivery many hours after the supposed visit. Having been on the chat with Amazon's reps, they claimed that the status of the parcel is unknown (either lost or missing?). How do I approach this now? Chargeback and wait for a replacement? Any thoughts would be useful!
