Amazon SE: Police report for a ghost account #1
Hello, I tried to SE a samsung Smartphone of the value of 385 euros, I used the wrong item method, but this time Amazon has requested me a Police report, the problem is that I have used a ghost account, the name I used doesn't exist(it's not related in any way to me) and I asked them if I can send a friend to fill the police report, but they told me that the report it must be filled by the person stated on the shipping address(which doesn't exist). I persisted several times about having received a wrong item, even sending them the pictures of the object I supposedly received(wich weights and size matchs), but they always tell me that in order to proceed to help me they need the police report. What do you suggest?
Thank you

You can play the COVID card aka you are self isolating and thus cannot leave the house and file a police report. Since this is a gift for someone special you have to get it by XX amount of time/by XX date and so on.

When was your previous SE with them from this account? Or is this a new account?

As far as any company Is concerned, every SE Is a legit claim, so you shouldn't have changed your account details.

They will not disregard the police report- It's required to move forward with your claim. You can say that you're In lockdown, and have no way of attending the police station.

EDIT: I posted this around the same time as @"thrw7878", so our advice matches with the PR.

the last SE is from June, one month before the current SE, since then i Have ordered 7 different legit items with an overall value of 90 euros. I think i also told them about it being a gift but they insisted with the police report

Thank you for the information.

What bothers me is why do you need a police report for wrong item received. I don't think I have heard that before as typically those are required when you use DNA. With wrong item received typically you have to send them something back before they can proceed with the claim.

We don't know the history orders of his account.

Maybe amazon spot something in his account.

You can always say that you have got covid-19 and you have to stay at home for 14 days. It's should work.

True but what will the police do in this case? Confirm that it is indeed the wrong item? I find that hard to believe.
With DNA it is clear what the report might look like. In this case I cannot see the logic.

Then simply say that you believe you may have the Coronavirus, and you're booked In to get tested.

As such, you cannot be In contact with anyone other than your doctor.

Reiterating my earlier post, always use your real credentials on the account.

If this was the case here, you'd simply file a police report without any Issues.
