Amazon Refund | Macbook #1
Alright so this might be a long ass post, sorry but I wanted to see what you guys/gals thought before I do this. I would have set it up better if it was an intentional SE from the jump.

So about 2-3 weeks ago I fell asleep and knocked my bong over and fried my 2019 Macbook Air (128GB) -- I ended up buying a 2017 Macbook Pro w/ touchbar from Amazon for about $480 w/ expedited shipping, this is where it gets kinda confusing on the best method for me (leaning toward FTID)....to make a long story short I work in SEO so I work at home like 24/7 but the fuckin UPS delivery guy said I wasn't at home and took the package back to the hub. I called and told them to hold it so I could get it (I would have done this differently now) and I picked it up, they gave me a promo for the balance of the expedited shipping since: it didn't arrive next day, I had to wait over the weekend, and because delivery driver was lazy I had to wait until the next day to pick it up. ------- Intermission back to the 2019 Macbook Air, I replaced the motherboard on this thing with 256GB, it was iCloud lock but I wiped it and it's good now so now my orginal Mac I wrecked is all good to sell since I have all my data on the Pro. I've been thinking I want to double down and get my money back on the Pro and refund it since my Amazon account has pretty good history.

I already got the refund for the MacBook Air parts I sent back which totaled around $80. I usually do Kohls drop off so by the time I get back home they approve the refund pretty quickly

Here’s my dilemma: I’ve been doing my research and I know people say FTID doesn't work like that anymore but I don't see what options I have besides sending them an M1 MacBook box I have with something else inside of it…I’m not seeing what other options I have given these circumstances. Maybe I'm over thinking it but since they sent me the promo ($40) for the shipping on the order first I want to do it the way that makes the most sense if possible. I'm gonna put in for the return maybe at the end of the week, or is this not a good idea to have those refund in succession like that? My account should be in very good standing as far as: age, purchase history, and not many refunds in comparison to that (usually not over $300 in the past with legit returns).

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!

I've done 2 MacBook pros on Amazon via ftid about 2 years apart. They both retailed for over 2k each.

The 1st one was easy, I waited 2 weeks and chatted and was refunded instantly.

The 2nd time I had to chat a couple times and it was escalated, it took about 3 1/2 weeks

I do have a seasoned Amazon account with a ton of legit purchases.

DNA/MEB + police report which can be filed online. Never over do police reports frequently so make sure its for a high value order like your macbook.

Ftid has been very bad lately on Amazon even for low value items let alone an expensive macbook.
