Amazon Rayban Missing Item Method #1
Hello,

as it is my first time SE'ing, I am trying it out on a 150 Euro Rayban sunglasses from Amazon DE on a legitimate 3-year old account.
The product dimensions are 10x10x10cm and 20g.
Due to its light weight and small dimensions I am planning to go for the missing item method.

I tried ordering it with another heavier item but unfortunately it is coming in a separate package.
My question is whether I should say the package was empty or whether the rayban box itself was empty.
I have read through your blog and based on my understanding, both are equally viable, but I wanted to get a second opinion before going ahead with it.
Thank you in advance for the help.

EDIT: Upon consideration, I believe 20g is only the weight of the glasses and the package altogether might well come up to 200g with the case and box and such. So perhaps it'd be best to say the box and case arrived but the glasses themselves were missing? That way the weight discrepancy would be minimal.

Perfectly suited to the missing Item method.

^ This.

Almost all shipping scales will not Increment the above weight.

I will go with rayban box itself was empty.
Also, did you consider DNA?

- I can get it for free, as everyone would if they could.
* Do you think that all these people think like you?
-Like me? Almost everyone. They just don't have the balls to admit it.

As expected, the method was successful without any problems. I was refunded without any questions asked after getting in contact with the live chat.

Since DNA seems to typically be a level of escalation higher (for example requiring a police report), I didn't want to do that for such a lightweight item. I will be considering it for heavier items for sure.

I have two questions for the next plan:
1) One of the options I am considering attempting next would be something with the sealed box method. My question is, if the item in question doesn't have any seals at all and is just a normal box, would it therefore be correct to assume that it is unsuitable for this method?

2) It's not a good idea to repeat two methods in short succession. It's also hard to generalise but how long roughly would you guys think I should wait before attempting a DNA/Sealed box method? I will be purchasing a few cheap items in the meantime and the next item I'm planning might for example be an apple watch in the 700 euro range.

Thank you in advance for your help.

I was very confident of a successful outcome with the missing Item method.

Well done.

i think you can also try the sealed box method right away because they won't notice the problem if you work well.  I also just made a PEB with some Pandora earrings and now I want to try the sealed box method with a gopro.
keep me informed if you try the sealed box method with an Apple Watch.

Be sure Its packaging contains a factory seal, otherwise the sealed box method cannot be used.

For Instance, the Apple Watch Series 6 Is packed with a box In a box, but without a seal on either of the boxes.

With a couple of cardboard strips (as the seal) to open the box?
