Hi everyone,

I did EB on Amazon for Airpod Max’s. Of course was asked for PR.

Filed a PR online with my local department, sent the reference number as well as PDF’s of the pages from the online portal.

I received this message from Amazon a couple hours later:

Hello,

We couldn't verify the details of the Police Report you provided.

Therefore, we're unable to assist you any further in this matter. We would ask you to resolve the issues and reshare the Police Report with us.

Has anyone else had this issue? If so, how can I resolve?

They often reply to PR's with that vague line.
Just tell them that since they didn't specify what exactly is that they cannot verify on it, to retake their effort again, escalate it.

also someone here shared that after continuous spamming them with "please verify again" emails they eventually succumb

Make sure there is a proper phone number on the PR. You can try to call that number and check.

This is their standard protocol for everything basically, keep at it, keep at it, Amazon cannot require the Police to do shit, the Police don't work for them, and a lot of Police Departments won't even classify it, because it's not a crime , it's a civil issue. And why are you or I having to report to the Police a crime that didn't occur.....if you never possessd it how can it be stolen from you, and that's Amazons or the Shipping Company's responsibility, not yours....

Do you guys understand this....the actual crime being committed is Amazon or whoever is not returning your money or item......you simply order and pay.....and Amazon gets a shipper and ships it to you, if it never gets there or is the wrong thing or empty, the crime didn't occur there at your place , even if it's taken off your door step.....you never possessd it to make a report.....so how dare they ask us to bother our Police with their bullshit mess....Police don't even have jurisdiction and time to check and investigate all of this....

It's all smoke and mirrors, it's a bullshit to get you to get scared and cave in or give in, it may take 6 months but they have to refund or return your money (item, etc)..........

They aren't calling and checking, they may tell you that , but they aren't.......again Police Departments don't allow Amazon to just call and clarify or verify if there is a report....sure give them a real number , they aren't calling , even if you are on the phone with you and they say we are going to conference call, they will push you to the very limits and to the very end, even legit people may be scared of that and say screw it....do you think Amazon cares if this scared your grandma so bad she said forget it? Nope, they want that to happen, free money for them......never , ever give up on these bastards!

Wouldn't you be absolutely pissed off and not take any shit from them if they sent you an empty box or your item never arrived, or was broke etc.....I would never stop and give in....they pay people good money to give people a hard time, stay the course.

i have exactly this issue, they first sent me a PR request, then 2 mails from ofm, now the PR request again after i have repeatedly told them that the responsibility is not mine. should i just keep messaging them?

how did you solve this situation? did you insist with the messages or did you send a PR?
