Amazon High Value item #1
So I’m planning to do a 3090 Surpim x with my aged account of 2 years with multiple purchases. I’m planning to do the wrong Item method as I think it’s the safest with these kind of order (over 3k+). I’m planning to swap it with a bbq grill; both items are fulfilled by Amazon so there shouldn’t be any problem. However, my roommate recently done a DNA for a different address using the same IP address that we are on. This prompted my account to receive a letter from Amazon as so:

“We noticed that you have requested refunds or replacements for a large number of orders because you reported that you did not receive your package.

We know that occasional problems with orders are expected in the normal course of business. In these instances, a refund or replacement may be issued.”

Now that this is a thing. Would my account be safe to do the wrong item method? I’m kinda having cold feet here since it’s a really big refund and can be devastating if I fail.

Although the message Is related to the DNA, your account Is under suspicion and claiming another refund/replacement (particularly a high value Item), has a high chance of triggering further action on their part.

Your SE may well go through, but there's no telling how many more claims will set off their algorithm to flag and consequently ban your account.

Would it be better to use this aged account or a new account and different address for the wrong item method?

Although the account Is aged/matured, the fact Is that It's flagged and has every chance of being locked/banned.

I'd say a new account Is the way to go, but be patient by placing a couple of legit orders prior to hitting the high value Item.
Ultimately, It's your choice.

I think I’m going with the matured account as I’ve been using that account frequently as of late. And the card I’m planning to use with the new account has the old account’s billing address so it’s linked either way if they plan to investigate the situation. My best bet right now is to prep the aged account with some more legit orders and hitting the high value item.

The matured account It Is, then.

As said, the SE may work, but It does have a significant risk of failing for the said reasons.

I wasn't aware of the link between the new and current account.

As per below, I thought there's no ties with the address.

It depends on the reason.

As far as Amazon Is concerned, It's a legit claim so If they decline It based on past events (too many refunds/returns), you can file a PayPal dispute/claim or a chargeback via your credit card provider. On these grounds, I can't see the dispute or chargeback failing.

Unfortunately Amazon Australia doesn’t accept PayPal as payment method so the only way I have left is through a chargeback. Hopefully it doesn’t as I only have one refund since over a year ago with DNA method and have been buying stuffs legitly ever since

I forgot you're an Aussie.

Every SE Is a step-by-step process, so we'll see what happens as developments unfold. The SE may succeed, hence obviously there'd be no need to hit a chargeback.
