Amazon AU refund #1
I have a really good dummy phone for S22U which I was planning to replace with the legit one I get from amazon. How should I go about this?
I see few options;
1. Get phone delivered and say it does not charge or anything (black screen) and proceed to return.
2. Get labels asw and then say that you returned the product as you found it cheaper somewhere else.
3. Get the product and use it for a few weeks (before returning period expires), returning it later saying it just stopped working and give it just as phone saying you binned everything else.

Personally I was thinking to do 3 as I would like to keep the box and other stuff (just habit incase I have to legitimately return it to Samsung).

Whilst writing I also thought of saying my wife threw the box or something to avoid suspicion on why I didnt return with the box but my other worry is that they will analyse the phone more with no box.

Please let me know what must be done
Cheers

You have some very good approaches, however the problem Is Amazon thoroughly and meticulously checks returns, thereby the probability of failure Is moderate to high.

That's why the sealed box method Is out of the question with Amazon.

What store would you think I can do? I really don't want to do in-store as that's dangerous af.
I thought sealed box was fine for Amazon if the product was seemingly in there as they don't check if the product actually turns on/works. Or I could say that the product does not turn on as a reason.
Please keep me updated
@elemenowpee tagging as it's AU related and you might have some insight.

I would personally use #2 as the other options you have listed will lead to a detailed inspection of the phone leading to their observation that it is a dummy. You could always claim that it but have been replace by someone else before your purchase, but you can also do that with option 2, if ti comes to that.

As @mothered said, Amazon is not worth the risk with sealed box. Try using any other large company that sell the phone, plenty out there.

Is JB Hi-Fi or Big W an option for you?

Their prices are a bit too expensive for me. I was thinking to bite the bullet and try it since I have read and seen many people having success with it.

If you're concerned about the SE failing, simply return It for a refund.
