Amazon asks for a police report, if I go to the police will they actually make work of it or just do nothing? Also can’t I just say to amazon the police told me they cant help me and that I have to contact Amazon?

You can't, just fill out a police report online and send it to amazon. Also close ur refunding service.

A police report Is not part of the judicial system, hence you cannot be charged with the report per se. That's the district attorney's office (prosecutor's) job to charge In the court of law.

Feel like this belongs here , I'm also wondering about ways around a police report. I know of people who've done it on items around £1000 and it's something that'd be cool to learn.
