Neither.

Only the DNA method.

Hey Mothered,.

GPU and "useless item" arrived. Turns out weight on the site was incorrect. I'm wondering how long I have to correct this, or if its an issue. Is there a most effective time after delivery to contact Amazon support? GPU is indeed 2.2kg (2206g) but the Tool Set I bought comes in at 2463g. Is this 257 gram variance too much? Do I need to look for a replacement "useless item", and fast?

Try and locate something with a minimal variance In weight.

The quicker, the better.

If It takes a little while longer, you could have been away due to urgent family commitments, hence the delay can be justified.

Hey Mothered. Just wanted to thank you for your advice, pulled my SE off flawlessly thanks to your advice, as well as ask you a question regarding a new SE I'd like to do.

I'm hoping to SE a camera from Amazon once again (sold by, and delivered by Amazon themselves). Its a Lumix GH6, a quick search on the UK store will bring it up.

My concerns are:
1.) It's very expensive (£2,600), quite a bit more expensive than the previous GPU I SE'd. Is this likely to cause any problems or are there extra factors I need to think about because of the higher value?

2.) I've only recently SE'd the GPU - ordered on the 11th Feb (just under 7 weeks ago ) and it was refunded on the 5th of March (2.5 weeks after refund request - 3.5 weeks ago from present date). Since ordering the GPU, I've made 29 legit orders with no refunds totalling a value of around £450. Again, is this likely to cause an issue?

3.) The wrong item method worked really well last time, so I'd like to do the same - although I'm wary it may cause suspicion attempting the same method 2 times in a row, with only 7 weeks in-between. Do you have any alternative method suggestions should this be an issue?

Thanks in advance Mothered, you really are a great help!

You're very welcome.

It's great to read the SE succeeded.

What Is your account's standing?

Given the number of legit purchases after the GPU was SEd, you're good to go with this SE.

It's not good practice to use the same method In succession.

Firstly, what type of verification will be required on delivery?

Quote:What Is your account's standing?
Not too sure how to determine this? Account has been open since around 2015, I worked out the other month I have AT LEAST £20,000 worth of legit purchases, maybe even £30,000 by now. I've had a few refunds (maybe totalling around £3k-£4k), along with an investigation or two started but always gone in my favour and have never recieved a "lots of refunds" email. What is considered a high refund rate? Is it based on refunded currency amount, or refund frequency?

Would you also be able to elaborate on how to determine your account standing? Is there anything on your blog that explains this?

Quote:Given the number of legit purchases after the GPU was SEd, you're good to go with this SE.
Just to understand this a bit further, the factors here are based on amount of orders, or order total value? For example, would 100 orders of £4.50 or 1 order of £450 make any difference?

Quote:It's not good practice to use the same method In succession.
I don't plan to do an SE on this scale again really (too risky for my business). Would you suggest I try a different method? Does it pose any extra risk performing the same method in my particular case?

Quote:Firstly, what type of verification will be required on delivery?
Checkout page says "Signature or one-time password required at time of delivery".

Another couple of things, mainly general SE questions:

Is it a terrible idea to bring up the fact I've had multiple incorrect items delivered on live chat? For example: "I'm getting fed up with receiving the wrong items" or "please can you do something about this? It seems anything I buy of considerable value has issues with delivery or is incorrect". The reason I ask this, I always go off 'what would I say if this was happening for real', I would be definitely be saying the above. But I wonder if that would make them take a closer look and potentially try and suss out the issue to protect and please their precious customer.

Potential dumbass question - The camera has an early bird offer, register the camera with Panasonic and receive an extended 2 year warranty and a free CF Express card. I'm almost 100% certain the answer to this is a definite DO NOT REGISTER THE DEVICE WITH MANUFACTURER AT ANY COST. But just checking in the unlikely case I can capitalise further from the offer.

Thanks again Mothered. Appreciate your time!

With the OTP is gonna be hard to do the DNA, and the item is too heavy for the empty box.. maybe you could try with the sealed box method?

Or, if you're not in a hurry, do a (partial) empty box SE now with a smaller item and then wrong item with the camera in a month or so?

To register the camera on the Panasonic site you'll most likely need to upload a proof of purchase, you COULD use the Amazon one but if they cross check (likely?) they'd find out the order has been canceled/refunded and it could get you in troubles

Thanks, that is what I was thinking regarding registering.

Mothered, sorry to nudge you! Hoping to get this going by tomorrow so let me know if you have any thoughts regarding me previous reply. Otherwise, I have a question regarding the boxing method (wanted to do sealed box, but after watching some unboxings, there is no sealed tag/sticker in sight!!). When do they weigh your parcel for boxing method? Whats the best way to calculate how much extra dry ice to put inside the box to make sure it arrives a the correct weight? What happens should it arrive so fast that the dry ice hasn't had time to fully sublimate?

The account's age, number of legit purchases, any complications with refunds and so on.

(03-31-2022, 08:53 AM)MOTI0N Wrote: Is there anything on your blog that explains this?
It's mentioned In many articles.

(03-31-2022, 08:53 AM)MOTI0N Wrote: Just to understand this a bit further, the factors here are based on amount of orders, or order total value?
The total number of orders.

(03-31-2022, 08:53 AM)MOTI0N Wrote: Would you suggest I try a different method?
Correct.

(03-31-2022, 08:53 AM)MOTI0N Wrote: Does it pose any extra risk performing the same method in my particular case?
It's unlikely to experience the same event In succession from the very same company.

(03-31-2022, 08:53 AM)MOTI0N Wrote: Checkout page says "Signature or one-time password required at time of delivery".
If It's the latter, the DNA Is out of the question.

Generally speaking and In terms of a local delivery, (where applicable) at the collection point, the carrier's depot and at the Inwards goods/return centre.

It's based on atmospheric conditions, storage and transit time.

Hey Mothered. What does Amazon scan to determine whether the item is 'theirs' or not? Is it the barcode on the actual item? I've had a few instances when the item I recieved has an extra label stuck on it with product name and a barcode, specific to Amazon.
