that being said, why dont you se a gpu straight from asus with AR or HP, just get a serial put hp care on it and enjoy a free gpu. There are also many more methods to get a gpu.. Hope i helped Wink
I went on HP's website and I can see HP Care for their individual laptops and PC's but I didn't see it anywhere for just a GPU. Are you saying get an HP computers SN and register for HPcare with it? Also checked out asus and I didn't see any paid protection plan type program. Looks like asus has the rapid replacement program I'm guessing thats what "AR" is referring to? Their replacement program requires a carrd on file which I'm assuming a VGC carrd or privacy carrd would work for an SE.
Thats correct, you purchase hp care pack for the pc that has the part you're after (in this scenario a gpu) and then you troubleshoot for the "faulty" gpu Wink Thats a priovate method im shating with you here Smile as for asus it involves calling em and they do advanced replacement. Maybe i shall make a tutorial thread on how to se anything from asus.

RE: Advice for SE High-End GPU #12
Sorry to bump this but my clone just arrived today and I just wanted to confirm some things before I proceed with the SE:

The entire amazon package weighs - 1.648kg
The GPU unboxed weighs - 1.366kg
The GPU unit itself weighs - 678g

Comparing this with Amazon's product page: Item Weight 889 g / Shipping Weight 1.4 Kg

So am I good to assume that as long as the item I get has the same 'shipping weight', I should be fine for the wrong item received method?

Thanks again! Smile

The HP one is really cool and smart, I didn't think of that.
If I understood correctly, it's not a "refund" right? you just troubleshoot for something you don't have and then they send you a replacement. But at that point aren't they asking for PoP (kind of photoshoppable, ok), photos of the item, and then to send back the faulty part (this one would be a problem). All the more since that GPU is 1300 euros worth.

I'm planing doing the same method for same GPU.

Just to sum up everything, it seems like this was a success for me. Tried to match the weights of the items based on Amazon's description (both GPUs were listed to be 1400g)

I ordered a Gigabyte 1660 that weighed 1366g using one account and then ordered a ASUS 2080ti that turned out to weigh 1249g using another Account (different CC, address, IP, etc). This account didnt have any past orders but it was an aged account (close to 6years) so was a bit worried about this.

Once I received the the 2080ti, i live chatted amazon and told them I got the wrong item. They told me to email them a picture of the item I received and I did and they started the return process for me. Also managed to get 10$ credit to make up for their 'error'.

Took out some sponge from the 1660 to lower its weight and managed to get it to around 1345g and shipped it backed. Live-chatted them once I did this to provide them with the tracking and also immediately got a refund for the return shipping. Once I knew that the item had arrived at their warehouse, I live-chatted them again and they told me to resend the shipping tracking details. They confirmed they received the item and issued a refund.

Hopefully, everything goes well from here, will check my statement in a few days to confirm. Was highkey afraid that the SE would fail tbh after seeing quite a few posts recently about the Wrong item Method being unsuccessful. Was kinda shocked that no investigation was carried out as well, but I'm not complaining.

Thanks to everyone for the advice and help again!

you are talking about the Asus rog strix 2080ti that costs like 1400 euros? So it weights 1249g? That's useful. On amazon page in my country says like 998g or 1500g.

what amazon are you talking about? US or EU?
