Accessing gmail on a different device

Logged into a gmail account with the same ip as owner, some browsing history in the browser and it sent a notification/warning to the phone.

Has the security for email accounts increased so much that even with the same ip, if you don't have matching cookies you will not get into the account without 2FA? Saw there are options for sending such warnings but regardless you would have to access to the account first.

In terms of building relevant cookies, if the pages you visit mention the name of the target, does this increase your chances of accessing the account? Does using a mobile ip work better than wifi? Would have thought a local wifi ip, would have been the golden standard.

Have found that logging into my own accounts, such as banking, email that when you use a privacy focused browser, the websites are not able to recognise that this device has been logged in before on the same credentials.

Google has been operating as such for quite a while.

I get It all the time when accessing my account from a different device.

Google has been operating as such for quite a while.

Even when you use the same ip (mobile), same device but private browser, it triggers a warning email to the account...

If you try to login into an email or facebook account via an app instead of a browser does your chance of success increase?
Or does that attempt get stopped with a 2fa verification request?

It's one of many security measures that triggers an alert.

Do you think downloading the app and logging in with a residential ip from the same city would work?

You'd be using a different IP, which will trigger an alert.

mobile ips vary don't when you turn data and off?
Tried logging in with the same ip in private mode and that triggered an alert.
Not sure how much cookie stealing and using would help increase the chance of success.
