A poem 07-17-2016, 09:06 PM

Hey, I've been doing music all of my life. I play both piano and guitar, and have been doing so for the past 8 years.
I also write my own original music, and every now and then a poem slips through as well.
I thought I'd share this one with you, I don't know why, I just felt like doing so.
Anyways, here it is.
"The Poor Man’s Lie":
We are told to wear a mask, to hide our calloused faces,
We are told from the beginning: only if you are blessed, will you make it.
They say poor men are all the same: worthless souls, empty cases.
There is no hope for us.
No light at the end of the tunnel that would not burn our skin.
Did you not know, you poor man.
Only the blessed are given forgiveness for the wicked within.
We are told to have caution and black-hearted charm.
A devil's smile and a poor mans wisdom will keep us from harm.
So pray for me, for I am a poor man; barley alive and almost dead.
At least that is what I have been told: the poor man’s lie that is in my head.
I also write my own original music, and every now and then a poem slips through as well.
I thought I'd share this one with you, I don't know why, I just felt like doing so.

You are a little soul, carrying around a corpse.
