I recently SEd a 4090 from amzn using the wrong item method. It took a bit of time to process, I had to wait 30 days for them to complete the refund (they said it's procedure throughout the month).
If you plan to use this method make sure to check the weight of both items in multiple sites, preparation is key.
My account was in good standing (4 months last SE with EB and a lot of legit orders after that).

what item did you say you received

I chose a power supply since the gpu was around 3kg. The weight difference was 150g (gpu heavier).

Good move.

3kg Is significant, hence a 150 gram variance Is minimal.

The total real weight of 4090 with the manufacturer box is 4kg/I’ve weighted mine/ therefore I don’t know how ppl are having success using 2-3kg items.. In zon Site all the weights stated are completely wrong..
I don’t know if they’re just labelling the packages with wrong weight.. Bu the actual weight of ASUs Strix 4090 in the original box is 4kg..
That’s so weird I don’t even know how to proceed with wir on such an item.. Do they really care about the weight, do they take in effect the real weight or the fake weight wrote on their package.. nobody knows I think

which 'cheap' item did you use for the wir?

Looking into doing this with a 4070 Ti...

Would like to order the exact same model 4080, and go thru amazon with a WIR... what do you think? Weights and dimensions are really similar, they look the same, but yeah..
