Hi all, I want to SE a perfume bottle from amazon and was wondering which method is the best. The bottle is pretty heavy and strong so I can't say it was broken.

I'm going to do this SE on a new account, but since I've been doing a lot of SEs lately on my main account I think I would face an unsuccessful outcome if they launched an investigation and linked my accounts. What do you think?

When it comes to perfume, and using the broken glass/item method...weight of the bottle doesn't matter. If you see what goes on inside the shipping sorting centers, where machines yeet your packages into huge bins with other packages slamming into it, it will not be a reach to say that the bottle was broken. Also if they ask for pictures you can always say that you have pets or something and disposed of the broken pieces to prevent your pet from ingesting it.

Sorry I wasn't clear enough. What I meant to say is that the bottle isn't made out of normal glass but a very strong material. I could say that the bottle was broken, but would amazon ask for pictures? I couldn't break the bottle even if I wanted so that would be a problem.

The thing you need to remember is that while you may think you can't break it, a machine like those in shipping sorting centers definetly can, and sometimes do. Also, since the price point is low enough, they are not going to give you grief over if the bottle is "too strong" to be broken. Trust me.

If not, find someone who Is, or use the corrupted file method.

Sorry, forgot to update this thread.

I went on live chat again the same day, explained the situation to a different rep and she gave me a return label to send it back for a refund.

How did you bypass the return?

I went on live chat and told them that the perfume bottle was broken, the rep asked me to send it back to get a refund. I told him that wasn't possible since I already threw it away for the safety of my little sister. He said he would ask a higher up how to proceed. Then he arranged a replacement but I told him that the replacement would arrive too late since it was for a birthday present. He said there was nothing he could do about it (I believe he was new at the job and didn't really know how to handle this stuff).

After that I posted on this forums for help on how to proceed next and you told me that what he said was BS and I should request a refund, if you remember. I contacted them again and explained the situation to the rep, she was quite understanding and gave me a return label to send it back for a refund.

Yes, now that I've read the above, I remember the series of events that took place.

I attend to an array of members, so I cannot possibly recall each one from memory.

Hope my story is comprehensible, I'm autistic and suck at explaining things and sometimes also forming sentences lol.
